Sydney-born Neville Tiller toured Britain and France with the 1961 Kiwis.
Moving to the West Coast as a teenager, Tiller represented the province in rugby union before switching codes with the Marist club in Greymouth. The centre’s talent was recognised courtesy of his selection in the 1959 National Coaching School team, but it was after a shift to the forward pack that he earned selection for New Zealand.
Tiller player three matches for the Kiwis abroad – against a Manchester XIII, Barrow and a Hull-Hull KR combination.
He later had administrative roles with West Coast Rugby League and coached the Suburbs club in Greymouth.
