We are deeply saddened by the passing of Neville Kesha, a dedicated referee, coach, and mentor.
A Grey Lynn Richmond Rovers old boy, Neville was known by many across the wider Auckland rugby league community for his lifelong commitment to the game, especially through his work as a referee.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s Neville was a prominent referee, officiating grassroots football through to representative rugby league, and a number of international Test match appointments.
A proud member of the Auckland Rugby League Referees Association, Neville also served on the NZRL Board in 2007.
Neville was well respected by all, a natural leader known for his passion for the game that was matched by unwavering integrity and love for his community.
We extend our heartfelt condolences and thoughts to Neville’s family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His contributions to our game of rugby league and the community will never be forgotten.
