It was a great day out in the Waikato for the NZ Clubs v NZ Schools U18s. The school’s side was dominant in the first half, leading 12-6 after the first 35 minutes. They continued that form into the second half with another try soon after kick off.
A great run by Clubs MVP Taipari Wikitera set up the try that brought his side back into the game, before he quickly followed up with his own try reducing the score gap. Clubs crossed the line for a third time in the second half, bringing the game to a tie. Despite strong attempts by both sides, they were unable to add further points to the board and the final whistle went with the score at 22-22.
