Long-serving Auckland hooker Len Morgan toured Australia with the Kiwis in 1967.
The former Western United and Mount Albert player was in his first season at Glenora when selected to make the trip, where he proved an impressive tryscorer with four tries in eight games (no Tests).
Morgan debuted against Riverina, before scoring two tries in a big win over Brisbane and dotting down in subsequent victories over Toowoomba and North Queensland. Wellington’s Colin O’Neil held down the Test hooker position during the tour.
Part of the North Island side that toured Queensland in 1966, Morgan’s tenure in the Auckland side included matches against NSW Country in 1965 and 1970, Australia in 1965 (lining up opposite the great St George rake Ian Walsh) and Great Britain in 1970.
