Goalkicking forward Ken George played eight games on the Kiwis’ 1963 tour of Australia.

The mobile George switched from Manukau Rovers rugby union team to Ōtāhuhu rugby league in 1957.

The 26-year-old debuted for New Zealand in a win over Southern Division in Wollongong on the ’63 tour, while he scored a try in a victory against North Queensland, kicked two goals in a loss to Central Queensland, and contributed a try and four goals to a win over Wide Bay Burnett.

George later had stints with Manukau and Mt Wellington.
