Test record: 2 Tests – 0 points

Versatile Auckland forward Eric Bennett played two Tests against the touring England team of 1920.

From the Newton club, Bennett was Auckland’s hooker against England in 1914.

After featuring for North Island as a second-rower against England six years later, he was called in to replace Ernest Herring in that position for the second Test against the visitors, partnering Bert Avery in the second-row in the remaining two matches of the series.

Bennett was made a New Zealand Rugby League life member in 1969.
