Tough Ōtāhuhu forward Eddie Moore was a New Zealand Test regular during the mid-1960s.

‘Bunna’ Moore made his Test debut as a replacement in the 1964 series opener against France at Carlaw Park, coming on for second-rower Ray Sinel in the 24-16 win.

He was not required during the remainder of the series but featured in both Tests of the drawn rubber against the 1965 Australian tourists.

Moore made 17 appearances on the 1965 tour of Britain and France, including the 9-all draw in the third Test against Great Britain at Wigan (coming into the side at Robert Orchard’s expense) and the losses in the first two Tests in France.

After touring Queensland with the North Island team, he made his last appearance for New Zealand was in the series opener against the 1966 Lions, replaced by Ernie Wiggs after a 25-8 loss at Carlaw Park.

Moore continued to be a regular for Auckland, however, representing his province against Australia in 1965 and 1969, and Great Britain in 1966 and 1970.
