Huntly front-rower Reinhardt ‘Dick’ Trautvetter toured Australia with the New Zealand side in 1930, playing nine matches.

Trautvetter had represented South Auckland against Great Britain in 1928 and featured for North Island against South Island from 1928-30.

No Tests were played on the 1930 tour of Australia, but Trautvetter scored New Zealand’s only try in the tour-opening loss to NSW and lined up in both matches against Queensland, with both state sides containing some of the greatest rugby league forwards of all time.

The following season, Trautvetter tangled with more champion forwards of the era, playing for South Auckland against visiting Sydney club Eastern Suburbs.
