Utility back Billy Wynyard was part of the trailblazing 1907-08 'All Golds' touring squad alongside younger brother Dick, featuring in New Zealand's first-ever Test line-up.
A North Shore rugby union teammate of Dick's, he represented Auckland in the code before being selected for the 'professional All Blacks' expedition.
Wynyard played 13 games for the All Golds, including a tryscoring performance at centre in the 9-8 loss to Wales - New Zealand's maiden Test. He also played in two of the three Tests in Australia on the group's journey home.
After helping establish North Shore Albions in 1909, Wynyard was an original member of the New Zealand Rugby League council in 1910, became president and was later made its first life member in 1915.
