Tom Trevarthan featured at stand-off during New Zealand's 1936 home series against England.
The North Otago rugby union rep moved to Auckland and switched to rugby league with the reborn Manukau club in 1936.
The national call-up came later that year, with Trevarthan kicking a field goal on debut in a tight 10-8 loss to England at Carlaw Park. New Zealand went down 23-11 in the second and final Test at the same venue.
Brother Dave represented the All Blacks against South Africa the following season.
