Otago forward Henry Thomas toured twice with the Kiwis in the 1920s.
Born in Cromwell, Thomas switched codes from Dunedin club Alhambra rugby union club rugby league side Athletic in 1924. He represented Otago for the first time that year and was a tryscorer for South Island in the inaugural interisland fixture in 1925.
Thomas was selected for New Zealand's 1925 tour of Australia, scoring a try in a loss to Queensland and featuring in a win over NSW among five appearances.
He was a second-row mainstay after an injury-interrupted start to the controversy-stricken 1926-27 tour of Britain, eventually playing 18 games. After scoring a try on Test debut in the loss to Wales, Thomas lined up in the third Test against England.
