Wellington centre Sam Rolleston played one Test for New Zealand against Australia in 1969.The rugby union converted was initially chosen as a reserve for the series opener but came into the run-on side after originally selected centres Roger Bailey and Roy Christian withdrew injured. Australia won the match 20-10 at Carlaw Park and Rolleston made way for the second Test.From the Miramar club, Rolleston was a tryscorer in Wellington's 60-8 loss to Great Britain in 1970.
