Rampaging back-rower Frank Pritchard played 27 Tests for New Zealand from 2005-13 while playing for NRL clubs Penrith and Canterbury.
Sydney-born Pritchard came through the juniors at St Clair Comets and Campbelltown City Kangaroos. He was a 19-year-old NRL debutant in 2003 with the Panthers, who went on to win the premiership that year - though Pritchard did not feature in the finals series.
The big, mobile tyro became regular starter for Penrith in 2005 and made his debut for the Kiwis in the second-row that year's Anzac Test. He featured in the thrilling 38-28 defeat of the Kangaroos in Sydney in the Tri Nations opener and came off the bench in the 42-26 victory over Great Britain in London, while he played in the one-off win over France.
Pritchard lined up in the 50-12 Anazc Test loss in 2006 - performance most remembered for ironing out Australia's fullback debutant Karmichael Hunt - and played in four of the Kiwis' five Tri Nations matches at the end of the year. He came off the bench to score a try in the epic 16-12 golden point loss to the Kangaroos in the final.
He came off the bench in 2007 Anzac Test and was a second-row starter in the heavy post-season loss to Australia in Wellington, as well as the first two Tests against Great Britain in England. After playing in the 2008 Centenary Test, a shoulder injury prevented him from taking the field during the Kiwis' triumphant World Cup campaign.
Pritchard lined up in the 2009 post-season Test against Tonga and all three matches of the Kiwis' Four Nations foray, scoring a try in the 20-all draw with Australia in London. He scored a try against Samoa in a Four Nations warm-up in 2010, then came off the bench in the round-robin matches against England and Australia, dotting down in the latter at Eden Park.
After 144 games for Penrith, the 27-year-old joined Canterbury in 2011. He missed New Zealand's program that season but returned to play in both of the Kiwis' Tests against the Kangaroos in 2012 and starred in the Bulldogs drive to the minor premiership and grand final (a 14-4 loss to Melbourne).
Pritchard scored a try in the 2013 Anzac Test loss in Canberra and was in the second-row for World Cup pool matches against Samoa and France, before bagging his sixth Test four-pointer in the quarter-final rout of Scotland. But that would be his last appearance for New Zealand, ruled out of the remainder of the tournament by a hamstring injury.
Despite a four-month injury layoff, Pritchard played in another grand final for the Bulldogs in 2014 (a 30-6 defeat to Souths) and represented Samoa for the first time during its memorable 2014 Four Nations campaign.
Pritchard spent the 2016 season with Hull FC, winning a Challenge Cup final at Wembley against Warrington, then returned to Australia with Parramatta in 2017. He played just eight games for the Eels but it took him past 250 NRL appearances. The veteran bowed out of top-level football by playing in three of Samoa's matches at the 2017 World Cup.
