Richmond and Auckland three-quarter Ted Mincham played three Tests for New Zealand on home soil in the mid-1930s.

Mincham debuted for Auckland in 1929 and represented Auckland Colts against touring Sydney club Eastern Suburbs in 1931, but he moved to Wellington and briefly switch to rugby union. Returning to rugby league with Celtic, he turned out for Wellington in 1932.

Mincham moved back to Auckland and the dominant Richmond Rovers in 1934. After scoring a try for Auckland against the 1935 Australian tourists, the 25-year-old featured in the centres in the first two Tests - lining up opposite brilliant captain Dave Brown.

He was recalled on the wing for the second Test against the visiting England team in 1936.

Son Bob represented New Zealand in the 1960s.
