Waikato forward Arthur 'Joe' Menzies represented New Zealand on the troubled 1926-27 tour of Britain.

Menzies kicked three goals for a New Zealand XIII against Queensland in 1925, and also turned out for South Auckland and Auckland Province against the brilliant tourists.

The Ngāruawāhia stalwart debuted against Halifax and played one Test against Wales on New Zealand's strife-torn 1926-27 tour, while he scored a try against Hunslet.

Menzies later represented North Island in 1929-30 and continued to be a mainstay for Waikato.
