Marist fullback/halfback Norm Loveridge was New Zealand's custodian for one Test against the 1920 English tourists.
A rugby union player in New Plymouth and Wellington, Loveridge moved to Auckland in 1920 and quickly found himself on the wing for North Island in a 46-5 loss to England in Napier.
Three days later he lined up at fullback in the second Test, a 19-3 loss at Lancaster Park in Christchurch.
Loveridge was replaced by Billy Mitchell for the third Test and played just one more season of rugby league for Marist.
