Wellington forward Henry Knight's international tenure was brief but eventful, touring Australia with the New Zealand team in 1909.
Knight made his debut for New Zealand in the third match of the tour, a 27-15 loss to Metropolis, then featured in two wins over Queensland before receiving a call-up to the Test team for the second encounter in Brisbane, a 10-5 defeat.
The front-rower played in a 20-8 win over a strong NSW side and lined up in the third Test in Sydney, but he was sent off, along with high-profile Australian forward Billy Cann, on the dubious charge of 'shaping up to each other'.
The RAS Showgrounds crowd cheered the pair as they shook hands making their way off the field. Australia won the match 25-5, which would be Knight's last for New Zealand.
