Ōtāhuhu winger Jim Ford toured Britain and France with the 1961 Kiwis.Ford's call-up came after representing North Island Māori against Australia earlier that season.The 22-year-old made 10 appearances on tour - five in Britain, five in France - after debuting against Castleford-Featherstone. He scored his first try in a win over Villeneuve and crossed for a double in a big victory against a Basque XIII in Saint-Gaudens.Ford, the nephew of 1938 New Zealand rep Clarence McNeil and the uncle of 1980s Kiwis great Gary Kemble, played for Ōtāhuhu until 1968.
