Wellington forward Whare Henry represented the Kiwis at the 1977 World Cup, alongside older brother Whetu.

Hailing from Taupo, Henry played for the Marist and Eastern Suburbs clubs in the WRL competition. He represented Wellington as a 19-year-old against Wales in 1975, scoring a try.

Two seasons later he was called into New Zealand's World Cup squad and featured at loose forward in losses to Australia and Great Britain; Whetu was at prop in both matches.

Henry played against Great Britain for Wellington in 1979 and Central Districts in 1984.
