West Coast winger Jack 'Nippy' Forrest played 12 Tests for New Zealand and toured Britain and France twice during the post-WWII period.
The 23-year-old played in all six Tests on the Kiwis' 1947-48 tour, scoring tries in the first two Tests against England, the one-off clash with Wales and the series opener against France. He finished the tour with 14 tries in 21 appearances, boosted by a four-try haul against Provence in Marseille.
Forrest scored a try against NSW and played in both Tests on the 1948 tour of Australia. He was on the flank for both Tests against the 1950 Great Britain tourists and the sole clash with France at home in 1951, and represented West Coast against both nations.
The Runanga flyer was restricted to just 10 appearances on the 1951-52 tour of Britain and France, but he scored seven tries - including one in his only Test outing, the 20-19 loss to Great Britain at Manchester.
In 1989, Forrest and Mocky Brereton were named on the wings in the 'Best Kiwi Coast Side' to mark West Coast Rugby League's 75th jubilee.
Forrest passed away in Greymouth in 2016, two days after his 92nd birthday.
