Marist and Auckland winger Jimmy Edwards holds the impressive distinction of playing all of his 17 Tests for New Zealand consecutively.
After representing Auckland against Great Britain in 1950, the 24-year-old was selected for the Kiwis' tour of Britain and France the following season. He scored tries in his first three games for New Zealand - against Halifax, Workington and Oldham - and made his Test debut against Wales.
Edwards scored two tries in the third Test against Great Britain and dotted down in the second Test against France, before lining up against the British Empire combination. He finished the tour with 11 tries from 24 appearances.
The flyer scored two tries in each of the 2-1 Test series victories in Australia in 1952 and against the green-and-golds at home in 1953. He featured throughout the 1954 series against Great Britain in New Zealand (a 2-1 loss) and all three of the Kiwis' matches at the inaugural World Cup later that year, scoring his eighth Test try in the tournament-opening loss to host France.
