Ponsonby United centre/five-eighth Hector Cole toured Britain with the 1926-27 New Zealand team.
Cole made his Auckland debut against a New Zealand side selected to tour Australia in 1925.
The following season, after scoring two tries for North Island, the 24-year-old ventured to Britain and played 14 games for the troubled New Zealand team. He made several starts at stand-off early on in the tour but played predominantly at centre, including in the second and third Tests against England.
Cole continued to play for Ponsonby until 1929 and later served as an Auckland selector.
