Despite a two year pause due to Covid-19, the Kiwis are ranked Number 1 on the International Rugby League World Ranking, with a 75% win rate; a 35% improvement on previous years.
The Kiwi Ferns then proved too powerful against Fetu Samoa Invitational, winning 28-8 in the only rugby league international for 2020. With momentum on their side, the Kiwi Ferns will look to stamp their mark on the international stage as they hunt for a record breaking fourth World Cup victory.
The five-team tournament will be hosted in Warrington and will be a festival of exciting and competitive international PDRL. The event will culminate with the final at the Halliwell Jones Stadium ahead of France v Samoa in the final men’s group A match.
LNER Community Stadium will host a women’s group game and both women's semi-finals. The city will also be the team base for New Zealand (Men’s) and Australia, New Zealand, France, Cook Islands (Women’s) teams.
