West Coast second-rower Reg Hart toured Britain and France with the 1961-62 Kiwis, making one Test appearance.
The Runanga mainstay represented West Coast and the National Coaching School team against Australia in 1961, earning a spot in New Zealand’s touring team later that year.
Hart debuted against Oldham-Rochdale, but that would be one of just four matches he played for the Kiwis in England. He was more prominent on the shorter French leg of the tour, however, making a further four appearances and partnering captain Don Hammond in the second-row in the 23-2 second-Test win at Perpignan.
Hart was replaced by Brian Lee, who had recovered from a broken wrist, for the third Test against France.
The West Coast regular later represented his province against France in 1964.
Hart’s uncle, fellow Runanga player Peter Hart, was a reserve for New Zealand during the 1932 home series against England.
